Show THE GREAT WAR IS OVER the great war forced upon neutral and peaceful nations four years ago by a monster seeking world power and dominion is over the armistice being signed by germany on the alth and now the establishment of a world peace is a ta task sk in which all nations will be employed the signing of the armistice amounts to an unconditional surrender and the pride of the kaiser has been humbled and never again will there be a ruler who will dare defy world civilization or try to gain world dominion the effort was a costly one and has enslaved the german people and her allies for many years to come the war is over but there is no time limit on the period of punishment and there are scores upon scores of german austrian and other barbarians guilty of aenious crimes against helpless and peaceful nations who will yet have to face trial for their crimes it is hard to conceive of a punishment severe enough elou 11 h to meet their case but adequate punishment should be inflicted if the means can be found and the kaiser hindenberg ludendorf Lud endorf should be made to suffer mentally and physically just as the people of belgium servia france and italy have suffered the death of mary cabel should be avenged and retribution should be meted out for the cruelties cruel ties inflicted upon defenseless peoples then too there must be restitution reparation and restoration st the diabolical acts of the central nations must be considered when peace terms are discussed and the military spirit should be so crushed and pulverized in germany that her people will forever shrink and flinch at even the very whisper of war justice will nill be done and one thing is sure sure and this is that this is not a german made peace it is now up to the american people who have been so loyal and so 6 generous in supporting the side of the allies in the war to be just as loyal and as generous in supporting the plans for the establishment of a lasting and permanent peace for the period of reconstruction will require time money and untiring effort for several years to come all honor is due the young men of america for the part they have taken in the war it was truly splendid and really wonderful and praise must also be given the american people for the vict victory ory is theirs just as much as if the stay at homes also had been in the trenches and had faced shrapnel scrap nel and gas and now for a period of wonderful progress 6 and prosperity |
