Show SILVER PEAK MINING COMPANY the silver peak mining company filed its articles of incorporation on the 2nd and dinst the company is capitalized at shares of a par value of 1 cent each the 0 officers and directors are R B shepard I 1 president W A langford vice president T F jennings secretary and treasurer J qt R general manager and W H t corry the incorporation is based on the old blair group of six claims in pinto iron dis brict iron county utah the blair is an old time producer of coni sid erable note it is located near the little town of pinto close to the great iron deposits of that section and was a producer at a time when no railroads extended into southern utah further than santaquin San and when it was necessary to haul the ores of the mine to silver reef for reduction the mine was developed in the early days by shaft sunk on the main vein to a depth of feet at which depth according to report the vein had attained a size of from eight to ten feet in width this particular vein showing values principally in silver chlorides and assaying from fifty to several hundred ounces in silver to the ton there are several parallel veins on the property which besides running well in silver also go as high as in gold with some lead and copper present in the past considerable work has been done in mine development while on the dump there is still considerable ore of both shipping and milling grade the mine is but a few miles from railroad facilities the salt lake route and it is a downhill grade practically all of the way it is the intention of the company to begin work at an early date in the development and operation of its property which without a question of doubt fully merits extensive and systematic exploitation which should be done most economically considering the favorable location of the property as regards water and timber and its accessibility to the railroad for the present the office of the company is located at state street salt lake city |
