Show UTAH APEX REPORTS the report of the utah apex mining company of bingham utah for the quarter ending december 31 1913 shows a reduction in net earnings from of the previous quarter to which is explained by the following quotations from that report we were compelled to close the greater portion odthe of the mine for quite a period due to a desperado who had killed several men finding refuge in the workings and upon orders from the county sheriff the several openings were sealed the severe winter weather interfered with the shipping of concentrates as well as crude ores to the smelter price of lead dropped to four cents per pound making considerable difference in net returns development work has shown most excellent results during the period feet of new drifts were opened and at this time of writing the parvenu has been found on the 1150 level our lowest workings proving its continuity to a distance of feet below our present workings and W with ith equal values we have also opened several new bodies of milling ore and the directors felt warranted in enlarging the present mill to double its capacity and we expect by april I 1 to be treating tons of this ore daily it was necessary by this enlargement to close the mill completely on february ap 1 so that our earnings for the present quarter may also prove somewhat disappointing from this cause but this will be only a matter of tw two 0 months during the quarter of the com purchased leaving banys bonds were outstanding at present |
