| Show SHIPMENT FROM THE MEAGER MINE A carload of ore from the meager mine galena nevada was settled for in salt lake a few days ago the consignment was accompanied compa nied by wm win meager of battle mountain and was purchased by the united states smelter on control assays essays showing values of per cent lead ounces silver gold and 15 per cent copper mr meager is one of the veteran miners of galena and has been working his property there fo for a number of years having taken from its workings at least while all of remain blocked out and ready for extraction and shipment ranging all the way from a good milling product to a high grade shipping material galena is a silver lead camp of considerable note with its old white and shiloh and other heavy producers of the early days and these old producers up to the year 1886 when the express office at galena was discontinued had a record of to their credit considerable sid erable ore has been mined and shipped from the camp since that time of which no record has been kept or is available strange to say no work has been done in galena mines below the water level mr meager accompanied by W F hall also of battle mountain left for rico colorado after attending to business matters in salt lake and will look after mining interests in the former place |
