Show success of the banner mining in ing r milling bitting 77 company it is only by conscientious effort systematic and intelligent development and honest management that genuine success is met with in mining operations time is a factor in carrying out an enterprise of magnitude as well as financial assistance but with conditions favorable in these respects affairs must be ably and honestly man aged before the transformation of a prospect into a producing and paying mine can be accomplished and more promoters and stockholders must enst restrain their souls in patience if they ever expect to profit prof it by their investments in this western country there are many propositions which start au out t wi with th every promise of success but because of the impatience of those who are identified with them the desire for dividends for profits months or years before there is a reasonable chance for the development and equipment of these undertakings a big profits are actually in sight such an instance is off offered ered in the operations of the banner mining milling company of silver city idaho in whose property of late some wonderful disclosures of exceedingly rich ore have been made in commenting upon the success which has close to silver city that this well known mining man who has worked assiduously for the past five years to locate the famous lead which was supposed to have thrown off the rich float which was discovered by the placer miners as far back as twenty five years ago has located that lead and that property owned by the i C company of which he r AMOK we such confidence in ti a mining company in its property and in its management that success is al almost in ft assured from the very start although seral aeral years may lapse before the stage L sf aed phed where big production and accompanied the operations of the banner company the statesman of boise idaho says mining circles of boise were treated with a genuine surprise yesterday when peter steele president and general in manager a n of the banner mini mining ng milling company arrived in this city with samples of ore from the mine located in long gulch is the head will eventually prove to be the biggest bonanza ever encountered in the state is the opinion or of all of the mining men who visited mr steele in his room at the idanha yesterday and congratulated him on the rich strike the ore which 1 is s free milling was first located on the foot level for the p past ast five years this company has carried on a vigorous campaign ot of development work their objective point being to strike at the apex of bf this vein which they had every reason to believe was in that section last september the first signs were shown when stringers of ore indicative of something bigger were unearthed the company worked on and recently ran into the large ore body which is so rich that it is very difficult to tell just how enormous the values are great quantity of free gold the samples which were taken from the face of the vein along its entire face of feet show chow free gold in large quantities hat the extent of the vein will be and what it will show with the further development which is now being carried on mr steele would not even hazard a guess he stated that he knows that it will be the biggest thing the state has ever heard of and declares he will start the mill when the weather opens in the spring the company of which he is the head purchased the property five years ago and with the work which has been done in opening up the property and in the construction st of the 30 ton mill the money expended reaches close to there has been over feet of development work done and while there have been times when it was thought that it was a hopeless task to continue further for the mysterious lead manager steele stayed by the helm using every means in his power to raise the money to continue the work and to hold out for the vein which he was satisfied was there in the mountain samples running very high in discussing the mine and the rich strike last night he said bald 1 I feel that we have the goods the samples which you see here run so high that I 1 dont know myself yet what they do really run to this property will without question be the biggest ig thing in the northwest north west I 1 am not saying this for the purpose of selling any stock for we have none for sale we have put up our money and have worked hard for all this and it is not our intent or purpose to sell any of t the he stob stock k it has been a hard old uphill pull pall and there were times time 5 in the past few years when it lo 10 looked aked ds as I 1 though we would have to quit I 1 was sat isfried that we were on the right road and I 1 encouraged my associates as best I 1 could with the assurance that some day we would find it when we first struck some of the ore you see here I 1 was then positive that we 77 I 1 alk Z 44 J mi battery floor odthe of the banner nissen mill had the goods and we kept right on developing ve loping we have opened up the face for feet and the vein from which this ha has s come is four and one half feet wide ilk rui tr it vt lip boarding and bunk houses at banner mine it is not kidney or and there is enough of it right now for us to run our mill for one year it also extends to the foot level and iam almost certain that we will strike at the foot or mill level we are in on the mill level 2200 feet and I 1 expect that we will strike it about feet further while the company is well capitalized and has shares share I 1 a am m proud to say that there is still shares in the treasury of the company this shows that every cent which we have been able to raise has been put into the mine outlook Is excellent all of my friends who have lived in and around silver for the past quarter of a century have been to see me and especially those who are now living in boise and they tell me that I 1 have found that lost lead and that the mine will be bigger than the trade dollar I 1 know this much that there never was such ore found in the trade dollar as I 1 have here the vein runs parallel with it but I 1 believe that this vein is the richest ever brer encountered in the silver city district we will keep on working and in the spring will run it all through the stamp mill which I 1 built there a few years ago I 1 have it from prominent engineers 9 inders and metallurgists that I 1 can make a saving of 98 per cent which is extremely large when it was known yesterday that mr steele was in the city he was visited by many of the former residents of silver and they all congratulated the manager and informed him that he had most certainly struck it rich many of these men have made their money in the camp and are well informed as to the conditions history of property the property is located in long or coffey gulch years ago when the placer miners were prospecting around this section they found large pieces of float which ran away up in the hu hundreds n dr e d S of doi dollar laro jack stoddard N found a piece which brought OA ht him the finding of this float greata greatly excited the miners and all during this ti tinye there has rea been more or less prospecting looking for the lead where this float was supposed to have come from the float too resembles the old timers say the ore which mr steele was showing yesterday different companies and different prospectors worked all mill with electric equipment machinery etc has cost about able and honest management mr air steele has been president and general manager of the company since its organization and on him ably assisted by his V V AL zi A 4 44 j 0 A scene in coffee gulch delivering lagging to banner mine over the hill but from lack of funds or from the fact that there were no favorable indications there gave it up mr air steele while still a young man has been in the silver city district for the past nine years and is well and favorably known his many friends yesterday in discussing the strike stated that there was no man in the district more deserving of the good fortune than he as he had worked early and late never giving up and always asserting that he would some day find the ore the samples are considered to be the finest ever seen from any property in idaho and it is said that if the vein continues in depth it is believed it will make of the banner mine the biggest in the northwest incorporated in 1905 the nugget of silver city gives the following description on of the operations of the banner co the banner mining company was incorporated in 1905 by mr peter steele dr heer and mr honstead of silver city at which time they purchased several mining claims on florida mountain adjoining the trade dollar companas comp anys ground since that time funds have been raised by the sale of stock to complete comp lefe payments on the property do a vast amount of development work and build and equip a 4 stamp nissen mill with all the modern machinery necessary to successfully reduce the ore of the property there has been expended in the development work considerably over the wife has devolved most of the work of the promotion of the property which has been done effectively and honestly during the past five years dr heer has been vice president of the company and has greatly aided in the careful management and development of the property along the lines of honest and economical promotion although later development has proven that mistakes have been made in work that has been done they were mistakes that could riot not have been foreseen and the work iso done can be properly utilized to good advantage as the property is further developed and the mine further opened up in proper shape as later on this work would have been had to been done hene hence e such work was only prematurely done on the beginning of the promotion of this property a considerable portion of the money for the payment of the different properties that now compose the banner mine and the early development work vork was raised by sale of stock to parties in this immediate lo 10 locality allty who knowing the ancor pora p orators tors and having faith in their integrity and business ability and knowing the excellent prospects for this property becoming com ing a rich mine are now rewarded fo tor r making the investment the main portion of the money that has been spent on this property was furnished by capitalists and friends of mr steele in minneapolis minnesota scranton pennsylvania and other localities in the east who may now be assured that their investment was well advised and that before a great many days they will be receiving suitable dividends mr steele has made good the off officers acers of the company have made good and now we are pleased to state to our readers that the banner mining and milling property has developed into one of the rich if not the richest properties ever opened in this one of the richest mining camps in the united states fabulously rich ore within the last few days an extension ore body has been opened up that shows fabulously rich ore and extensive bodies of ore of high grade are being blocked out to be taken to the mill now standing ready to reduce it to bullion ex 4 az 7 17 aw banner mill and lower tunnel we h bad ad a amount cf samples of this rich ore that had just been taken from the mine and there were e great chunks of ore many of which were halt half gold on which protruded nuggets of gold the size oi of large peas and the fhe en tire rock thickly interspersed with specks and threads of pure gold on account of the tramway to the mill from the upper levels where this rich strike lias has been made not being covered for winter use the management has decided to spend the winter months in getting out and blocking out the ore body ready to mine it and transport it to the mill as soon as spring opens they have now enough of high grade ore in sight to keep their mill of a daily capacity of 30 tons in active operation for over a year the mill will be star started tedon on or about the first of may and thereafter kept in active operation after which a large force will be employed to further develop the property and to get out and mill the ore hardships encountered the hardships encountered by the promoters during the past five years in securing sufficient funds to pay for the property and keep the work progressing can hardly be imagined by those not conversant with such work when honest promotion absolutely without graft has been successfully done is indeed an exception and not one in a thousand could have succeeded nor one in ten thousand would have succeeded as has mr steele in this work many times have scheming capitalists endeavored to secure a controlling interest in this property and on one occasion mr steele was offered off ered a fortune to make such a deal b but u t being an honest and conscientious man he would not throw down his friends who had trusted to his integrity and ability to tio successfully promote the property the now assured fact that the danner banner mine has proven its worth and will soon be a good dividend paying property stands as an emblem of what energy honesty ability and perseverance may accomplish b by y those who know the tight right and have stamina to do it in the face of adverse circumstances in this work mr steele has labored untiringly and at many disadvantages until his health has been considerably impaired only by the heroic assistance support and encouragement given him by his noble wife could he have so well succeeded the stockholders of the banner company owe much to mr and mrs steele and are in truth able to say well done thou good and faithful enter ye into the joys of easy street 0 |
