Show STATE FAIR EXHIBITS there were many most interesting exhibits at the state fair held in salt lake last week and the mining industry was well represented the mineral exhibit was better by far than has ever been made before and ores and minerals were displayed from every mining camp and district in the state the building devoted to this purpose being n constantly thronged thron ged in this building also two local machinery dealers maintained excellent exhibits in the space assigned to the F C richmond machinery company there was on exhibition hibi tion a gasoline air compressor manufactured by the chicago pneumatic tool company chicago giant rock drills alamo gasoline and distillate engines belting etc across the aisle the salt lake hardware company had a fine display consisting of air compressor jackson hand rock drill wood rock drills ore car pulleys belting etc in the same building the independent coal coke company had an interesting display in which was depicted a miniature coal mine in operation the output representing aberdeen coal in one of the main buildings the utah electric supply co maintained a fine exhibit including a big display of the apparatus manufactured by the fort wayne electric works of which the utah electric company is sales agent for utah idaho and montana the company also had on exhibition electrical machinery and equipment oooo numerous to mention the display being a most attractive one in all of its features in the same building the utah fire clay company had an exhibit of muffles cruel cruci bles fire brick and other goods used by assayers and in laboratories as well as tiling pipe and other lines of manufactured clay goods these exhibits were all admirably displayed and attracted a great deal of attention the university of utah and the state school of mines occupying a building exclusively clu designed for this purpose had displays which appealed very strongly to the crowds thronging the exhibit the state school of mines was especially strong dinits in its exhibition of various phases of engineering engin v W ork the agricultural college of logan also occupying a building entirely devoted to its exhibits had most interesting displays illustrating the branches of study pursued in that institution lich were highly tive and much admired |
