Show 0 THE GREAT NATIONAL MINE president pelton says lane mill doing wonderful work miner national nev bullion to the value of two hundred thousand eight hundred dollars was produced and shipped to the united states mints at carson city nevada and san francisco california during the month of september while it represents the production of the property for september as a calendar month the amount named was produced during the last half of the mouth as our mill was closed down during the first half on account of necessary readjustments and changes in the plant the mill which is a new one is now running smoothly and we naturally expect a greater production during this month such was the statement made by dent john E B pelton of the national mining company of nevada when asked a few days ago as to the production of his property during the mouth month of september while the statement is a model of brevity when the results attained are considered it tells a wonderful tale president pelton declined to go into details he is a man of very few words and it is characteristic of him to use the least possible number of words in telling of his famous mine and its production he is fully aware that uninformed persons may hesitate to accept as the whole truth his statements as to the production of the mine and for that reason it is with great difficulty that any information upon the mine or its output is obtained from him when pressed for a statement as to 10 the performance of the new mill which is of the lane slow speed type since it was put into permanent commission corti mission the of last month president pelton said the plant is handling on an average of twenty two tons of ore daily the mill with the two concentrating tables we have just installed is doing wonderful work and is making a better saving than we had figured upon the plant is giving general satisfaction president pelton is not overlooking any details in the matter of protecting the mill against possibility of robbery As a precautionary measure he has just had a runway over the roof and a watchtower watch tower over the ore bins constructed at all hours of the day and night a guard heavily armed is stationed in the watchtower watch tower which is lined with sheet steel making it bulletproof and is about seven feet in height with frequent apertures aper tures to permit of the use of rifles during the hours of the night another guard paces back and forth I 1 along the runway over the roof in addition to the tower and the runway guards a body of heavily armed trusted employed emp loyes are on duty in the interior of the mill day and night president pelton believes in locking up the barn before the horse is gone |
