WOMEN SAY MEN OBSTRUCT STREET Complaints Regarding Night Crowd in Front of Lincoln House Complaints were made to the police pollee de department department d yesterday by several women that First South street treet in front of the Lincoln house is being at night obstructed by men living in the hotel botel On One woman said Tuesday night about 1039 1031 1 was waa down town I live a short hort tUlane on Est East First South o that I was not warranted in io taking a street car ear 1 i started to walk and when I reached ached r the th Lincoln house hOWie I was wu compelled COl to walk in the street On the building side of the tIN sidewalk men were lined up for 1 r the en entire entire entire tire distance two deep sitting in chairs chains On the gutter side of the sidewalk where there are some iron rails ran the men were w e literally stacked They were expectorating ing upon the sidewalk so that if it a woman passed along alone the street she Bhe would be com compelled compelled to hold up her Iter skirts skirt or get them ruined Saturday night I had occasion to pas paa the place This time I did not walk in tn inthe inthe the street treet As I passed about of the th men sitting there passed some re remark remark remark mark about me I think something should be done to clear the sidewalk so that women passing passin alone up the street wi l not have to walk through such a crowd Many complaints have been made to the th police department in the past few tow month about the sidewalk in front of the Lin Lincoln Lincoln coln coin bouse house At each complaint the po on the street has been instructed to clear the sidewalk but the guests of the house soon forget the warning and before long the sidewalk is again filled pc a
