Show WOULD HAVE PARK BOARD Committee c R Reports ports on Plan to Establish lish ish Commission to Supervise Work The Hobday ordinance establishing a board of park was for passage last evening by the council municipal laws committee The ordinance was two months ago but so far no definite action has been taken although it il has been discussed on the floor ot of the council on numerous oc occasions c The ordinance provides that the ma mayor or shall appoint a board of five park com coni commissioners missioners to serve during the term ot of th mayor appointing them without salary It Is made their duty to supervise the planting of trees and shrubs In the public parks and along the streets and avenues and In order that a uniform system of planting be carried on the commissioners shall have the power to determine the class ot of trees and shrubs to be planted In Inthe inthe the parking dIstricts which may be bc b by the council It is also provided that in all park dis that the property owners shall be as to the character of the un im desired along the street strett and It If they do not put thorn them In the city will willand arid and the cost will be assessed against the proper property The hoard board also has the Power to r re remove move all dead and unsightly trees at the expense ot of the abutting property owners The board will also em employ loy a ot of parks at a salary of n a month who shall be an experienced laUd land gardener whose duty It shall halI be to sUpervise all work ordered by the board Accompanying the ordinance Is another setting aside parking district No 1 which consists of Brigham Street from State street to the reservation First South street from Second East to Thir East Enst streets Second South street from Second East to Tenth East streets and Sixth East street from Brigham to NInth South streets |
