WOMAN IS BITTEN lira BY SCORPION WHILE S PICKING BANANAS BANAr AS OFF BUNCH IN STORE Mrs L M 11 Hickman who iho runs a fruit stand at Fourth West and Sec See Second Second ond South streets was bitten yester yesterday yesterday yesterday day afternoon by a scorpion while she was pulling 1 bananas off of a bunch bu ch hanging in her store The scorpion fastened its grip on her hand hani She ran out of the store scream screaming screaming screaming ing and knocked it off Immediately her hand began to swell and Dr T H Hazel was summoned The wound was vas dressed and although though a her hand and arm is badly swollen it is believed that she will recover re oYer The scorpion had crawled up under the bananas next to the stem and was packed in with the bunch when it was boxed The poisonous insect was about five inches in length It was killed and will be preserved in alcohol
