Show COMPANIES ARE MERGED D Rival Irrigation Corporations in Uin Uintah Uintah tah County Finally Get Together Vernal Feb 1 IAn An important confer conference conference conference ence has just been concluded between two rival rhal irrigation companies both of which were organized for tor the Dry Gulch district on the former Uintah Indian res reservation reservation reservation The larger of the two com corn companies companies parties was organized in Vernal during the month of November 1905 1909 It was known as the Dry Gulch Irrigation com corn company company pany Its territory embraced all the ir irrigable lands between the Uintah river and Lake Fork There are already over 00 oo homesteaders in that district The other company was organized in Denver Cob Colo Its territory covered a large e district in the heart of the dis district district district covered by the Vernal company The president of the Denver company was Charles L Bailey of Denver a prominent citizen and one of the tier tiep tlC of the secretary of the state of Colo Cole Colorado Colorado Colerado rado The board of directors were most mostly mostly ly l prominent nt lawyers and business men from various parts of Colorado Be Besides Besides Besides sides securing settlers from among the former residents of Colorado as mem members members members bers of their company a great many Utah people identified themselves with it The efforts to merge the two organizations organizations organizations into one had bad proven fruitless un tin until until til the present conference was held The Tue two organizations were operating against each other with a knowledge that one of the other must eventually be set aside This was accomplished last night Mr Bailey arrived from Denver and sub submitted submitted submitted a proposition upon which the two companies could ouId be bp merged Into This was accepted by the Dry Gulch tion company The terms of or the merger are that the Denver organization shall shaH have a 8 representation of three mem bers on the board of or directors of the Dry Gulch Irrigation company There are aro seven directors in all Mr Bailey of Denver is to be the vice president of the company All water rights of the Denver com corn company company pany are to be transferred tran to the Dry Gulch organization They are to receive stock and credit on en the books of the Dry Gulch Irrigation company in return for their Interests This removes the last barrier in the path of the huge organization that will control th the Irrigation of the Dry Gulch Lake Fork and Uintah districts which are destined to become the most populous populous lous Ions on the reservation r |
