Show LEEDS. Tho Mines and Mills on the Keefs. Rich Strikes auiI Lucky Miners- Nuw I'rorshN lor Keriiiuiug Ors. (Suucitl Correspond, neo ) LEKD3, April 16'. h. '77. Hot wealliT has finally buI in. and with it come the myriads .1" 11 its, a slight spriukling ol lizzvnid and an ocoaoional Dixie zdphyr Hi : nuki one hold on to his hair tu keep it from blowiuc off. THE LEEDS S. M. CU.MP-NY arc still rusWiutf butiueei with their mino ami mill, making Ihuic udiitil shipments of hullinu. Their mine is j still eaid to ho lookiiag fiuely, but the leading sensation of camp it the EMILY JANE MINK, owned by R. T. Smith and Col. E. A. Wall. The colonel ia a lu-ky boy. He came hria lute, but dropped into the best thiug in griud atones the first , week. This Emily Jane ia hy many supposed to he the mother voin of the camp. It is largo aud strung, coos dowu with mure than usual of a dip, and is very rich ore aud plenty of it. Any kind of an assay can be had from it except such only as have the e tig lea and goddesses, on the silver sampled. THE DUFFIN MINS on the far eastern side of the camp, is turning out some very rich ore; in fact large quantities of it are very rich. The miue is bonded to Colonel Dava Buel. aud at the same time leased in parcels to "chloriders." One ol these parties recently sold a fourth interest in tail lease (running to July 1st) to Banker Wright of Pioche, for $1,500 caulv down. THE H AKR1SBU RG MINE owued by a company by that name and located on the white reef south of Harrisburg, it opening up fiuely a good, strong, large vein and going down with a good dip; in fact, tht extension of the reof suuth of Harrisburg Harris-burg is attracting much attention and turning out well. This mine is about six miles south of the Luna miue on the same reef, with a continuous line of mines ennecting the two, and all more or less worked and showing good ore. Among this string of mines are the Walker, Barbee, Bonanza, the Leeds 3. M. Go's mine, Maynard, Thompson, McKilvy, McMulleu, Gishorn and Shauntie. THE OOSS MILL is progressing finely. It is to be 'erected on the Virgen river, three miles east of Leeds, near the Morning Morn-ing Star leef, below the Dutfin mine. It is to be run by water taken out of ; the Virgen river. THE DUPAI3C MILL is running finely with good results, I having taken out of ona lot of ore all ' ! the filver to within one ounce of ton fire assay. This is doing well indeed. THE LEACHING PROCESS, as introduced here by Harry Harris, Pete Tissue k Co., is a perfect success. suc-cess. They-are doing well with the one vat or tank they now have up, and propose to put up a mill with capacity to do a good business on this plan. I have also put up a vat or lank on the Toledo mine, where I have ores, and have taken through two lota ot ore, getting result that are highly satisfactory, being about 80 per cent, of the sample fine assay. As soon as I get lumber I will alBO increase my capacity to do a good business, as I am fully satisfied satis-fied that this leaching or lixiviating process (Patents' process) pro-cess) is the very thing for this camp, aod will make a lively camp o( it, as the ores hy this proufss can be reduced re-duced so much cheaper than by amalgamation and gives such good results. TOWNS ARB QROWINQ, Not the leaat feature of this district dis-trict is iu towns. Leeds, HarrisLur, Silver Reef and Bonanza, are rapidly improving and more especially Silver Reef, which is quitu a place; and now comes a new town on South Cotton - wooo, me name oi wnicu l nnvc uoi le aned; also Mill town, at the company's com-pany's mill, and finally a new town on Virgen river, at the mouth of Grape Vine, called Babylon, and still we have plenty of ground for more towns.
