Show Joseph Trluic to Ualu Time. San Francisco, 19. On July 15th General Howard sent Joseph the following fol-lowing reply to his message, oflering to surrender: Joseph may make complete com-plete surrender to-morrow morning. My troops will meet him at the ferry. Ho and his people will be treated with justice, their conduct to be completely investigated by a court composed ot nine ot my army selected by u.ysell. A later dispatch eays that Joseph's movements subsequent to the proposition propo-sition for surrender have convinced General Howard that the proposition waB merely a ruse to gain time for the escape of his force. |
