Inasmuch as the cry of prospectors :a "ou to tho Big Horn," it is of vilal importance to every person who contemplates con-templates visiting the gold Gelds to know the best route lo lake. The Big Horn country has long Biuce heen regarded :is tho lund of promise for gold seekers, hence nothing need he siiid of the country but what h of special importance to everyone is tho best route. There are thousands of men throughout the at:U03 aud terri-iorioa terri-iorioa who hiwo their mo:t saucuir.o hopes fixed on the Bg Horn, hence tho importance of the best route. This would necessarily iucludo safety, I directness and celerity. Tho , route possessing thce ndv.uiUgos must, in tho nature of thing, be the favorite, na speed and safely aro the two characteristics of the age, and every prudent man will con-aider con-aider theso facta. There are several sev-eral routes advocated by which this country can he reached, but the facts show conclusively that the moat desirable and practical route is from Rawlins, Carbon county, )Vyomiog territory. Cheyenne ia distant over 400 miles, Green river is 2'60 nuiea and Evanston over C00 milea. The route (roni any of these points must be for a great portion of the way over an unknown country, while from Rawlins the distance is not over loO uiilea, and that over a road that is known aud has a bountiful supply of wood, water and grass. There is now a regular mail service on this route forty-five miles out from Rawlins, to-wit: to-wit: To the Ferris and Seminole ! mining districts, whero there are three mines now being worked by large companies. Siity miles out the road crosses the Sweetwater, river by a good wagon bridge. This is the only stream of importance or sizo on the j route. Sixty-five miles out tho road , passes tho famous "Soda Lakes," J from which it is sixty miles to the head of Powder river, and from that to tho Big Horn it is twenty-five miles. An expLdition of lrom 200 lo 300 miners and prospectors will leave Rawlins fur tho Big Horn country between tho 1st and 10th days of April, 1S77, headed by tho oldest miners and mountaineers mountain-eers in the west, It is desired by I those going ta increaso their number num-ber as greatly as possible, in order to secure safety and success in prospecting. pros-pecting. All who contemplate going to the gold fields should arrange and go with this expedition. Tho expedition expe-dition will, when ready to start, select their leaders from among their own number, and can thus select men who know tho country. All persons should go prepared to outfit themselves them-selves with a saddle-horse, pack-horse and prospector's outfit. There are large stores at R.iwlins, where everything every-thing required for a complete outfit can be bought cheaper than the parties could take the goods there, Tho merchants havo agreed lo furnish fur-nish this expedition with their provisions pro-visions at the actual cost of them hud down at Rawlins.
