Lt says: The field ol labor amonu the Chinese is among the most important before the church. The only question was how the work of evangelization could be accomplished. 'The committee com-mittee suggested that the board ot home missions send out teachers to prosecute the work ; that Sunday schools be established; that the work should be mainly conducted by the foreign missionary board, because it is more adapted to it, and because a foreign dialect is nesded. It has Curiatian Chinese literature, praclisal knowledge of reaching the Chinese heart, and they have returned missionaries mis-sionaries who would be of more service ser-vice than home missionaries. The committee referred to the use of converted con-verted Chinese ou the Pacific coast as the means of helping work across the water. The committee recommended cooperation of the synods and presbyteries presby-teries in the work ol tho education ot a native Chinese minister. , |
