The officer accompanied him to his room in tbe hotel, whereupon where-upon Silloway drew a pistol from his pocket, in doing which tbe weapon was discharged. He then pointed the pistol at bis. head, but at tbe critical moment winced and dropped hifl caput, the ball going over and lodging in tbe wall. He was taken to jail, and on Sunday morning it was discovered dis-covered that the first abet bad entered the thigh, inflicting a painful but not 'dangerous wound. |
