Show PACIFIC COAST NEWS. CALIFORNIA. Great oxcitement was caused at Santa Rosa on the 26lh inst. by an attempt to kill Judge A. Thomas, wbo was shot in front of tho court bouse by G. L. McCoy. The ball entered Thomas' lelt side, near the heart, but glanced around the body, and was afterward taken out of his back. Tbe cause of the shoot ir g was an old grudge cherished by McCoy against Thomas because the latter had once defeated him in a divorce suit. Thomas' wound is severe but will probably not prove fatal. M.:Coy w-is arrested and lodged in jail. Santa Rosa is not in Utah.
