Show Gotham GiUlivrlnut. New York, G. Judge Weslbrook, in the suit of Jus. B. Sweoney, announced an-nounced that the amount to bo paid is 400,000, which is to be handed over by Hugh Smith, executor of Sweeney's estate. After reasonable lime if restitution is made according to promise, all cases againat Sweeney will be formally dismissed. It is said that O.ikey Hall will probably return now, and that Tweed, who received the news cf the proceedings to day with pleasure, has a better chance of speedy release. Baforo the custom house committee to-day, Mr. Miller, owner of a banded warehouse, testified that Superintendent Superintend-ent Russell's work in the warehouse department was to collect subscriptions subscrip-tions for political purposes. Ha never visited stores to make an examination of warehouses. Witness paid six subscriptions for political purposes, but got no returns, and was satisfied that a million'dcllars had been abstracted ab-stracted Irom the treasury through the damage allowance law.
