The various commitlses were announced, after which a recess was taken until 2 o'clock. Smith ot Cook couuty asked for but was not accorded permission to read a telegram from Manton Marble of New York, which was to the eflect that Mr. Tilden was not the chairman of the platform committee at Chicago in 1S64, but opposed the peace resolution, reso-lution, declaring the war a failure, etc. -He arguad against admitting that plank. The report of the committee on credentials was adopted. The committee com-mittee on permanent organization reported A.. 6. Burr for president, with a vice-president for each district, and the report was adopted. The committee to appoint delegates to the national con-vt-ntion reported from each district fviib oUtfDMn, aod the following delegates at largo: W. J. Allen, P. H. Winston, C. L. Higbee, Char! Dunham, with the following alternates: alter-nates: General J. C. Black, Jas. C. Allen, W. W. O'Brien, Thomas S. Casey.
