Show THE OTHER SIDS. Saxdy, Utau, June 6th, 1S7G. Editors Herald: In the Tribune's issue of Sunday, the 4th instant, is an article headed " Sandy Land Grab," which for truth and moderation ia only equalled by articles appearing in the same journal jour-nal and under the same biased influences. in-fluences. Whoever the author may be of the said article, be had better turn his attention to writing fiction, for as a writer of truth he is not a success. The facta of the case are these: The parties claiming the land did, in the first place, ask the outrageous out-rageous price of $100 per lot of 2o teet front by 100 feet in deoib, irrespective irre-spective of location. To this the people objected and made strenuous eflorts to reduce the price to a reasonable reason-able figure by holding meetings and appointing committees to further this object. In tho meantime th claimants seeing the unreasonableness and injustice ol their former demands mado a reduction in the prices of their lota that seemed just and reasonable reason-able to .all except a few who were ol the "neck or nothing" sort. Now as regards the bargaining which was asserted to have been made with the "serfs" and who "ought to be thankful to get any kind of a title from the priesthood or Brigham," it is ot a piece with "Guliver's Travels," with the differ ence of one ciaimiug to be a truthful transaction and the other a satirical one, with the advantage of at least a bidden truth. There are some here who insinuate that the father of the writer of tiiat piece of malice referred to never purchased a "little hatchet" for his son, and tho neglect of doing so has influenced his whole after hie. As to making a bargain with any one in Saudy, Mr. Young and Mr. Little did nothing of the kind. They did tell quite a number tho prices at which they could have their lots, and had thoy had the time I think all would have had the same "bargain" made them. The writer of tho article mentioned conveys the impression that the people of Sandy are in two classes in this matter, "Mormon" and "Gentile," and that the "Mormons" "Mor-mons" or the "serfs" were glad to get "any kind of title." The fact that can be proved is this : That all , the people of Sandy, irrespective of distinction of either religion or politics, poli-tics, are desirous of obtaining good tilled to their lots at a just and equitable equit-able price; that the "bargain" was made to Gentile, Mormon and Jew alike, nor have I heard of a single person beine asked for any expression of his belief in order to enter into a "bargain" with those parties who were disposing of their low on any terms. Tuere is not now, nor has there beon auy animosity fell towards any church or organization in this matter on the part ot tho citizens ol Sandy, and the feeling is now general that the devil is not as black as he was painted, and that we will settle the "land grab" in a peaceful and satisfactory manner.
