Show 'JTlie I'ljjuoiil'i 1,'oiiiicil. In the afternoon session the committee com-mittee appointed to wail on Rev. Drs. Storrs and Buddiugton, reported that those gentlemen had no communication communi-cation to make to the coune-il. A letter was read by Mr. Shearman from the Andover Theological church lo Plymouth church, asking for a mutual council to try the charges against Mr. Beecher. This led to a spirited discussion, during which Beecher said he was lired of a community com-munity who had not the sense to read the court reports of the case, and stop continually sending complaints that they had not challenged the world as witnesses. Mr. Boweu appeared beforo the council in the evening, and was examined ex-amined in reference to his communication communi-cation to council, but nothing important im-portant on tho merits of the case was elicited. Tho council adjourned till Saturday. |
