Inasmuch as the cry of prospeolors ia "on to the Big Horn," it ia of vital importance to every person who con templates visiting the gold fielda to know tho beet route to take. Tho Big Horn country has long iuco heen regarded as the land of promise r for gold scekere, hence nothing need he said of the country but what id of . apccial importance to everyone ia the best route. There are thousands of men throughout the states and territories terri-tories who have their moet saDguine hopes fixed on the Big Horn, henco ! the importance of the best route. Thia would necessarily include safety, iirectness and celerity. The route possessing these advantages must, in the nature of things, be the luYorite, as speed and Bafety are tbe two characteristics of the ago, and every prudent man will consider con-sider these facts. There are several sev-eral routes advocated by which this country can be reached, but the facts show conclusively that the most desirable and practical route ia from Rawlins, Carbon county, Wyoming territory. Cheyenne is distant over 400 miles. Green river is 230 miles and Eva iia ton over 300 miles. The route from any of these points must be for a great portion of the way over an unknown country, while from Rawlins the distance is not over 150 miles, and that over a road that ia known and has a bountiful supply of wood, water and grasa. There is now a regular niuil Bervice on this route . foity-five milea out from Rawlins, to-wit: to-wit: To the Ferris and Seminole mining districts, where there are three mines now being worked by large companies. Sixty milea out tho road crosses tho Sweetwater river by a good wagon bridge. This is the only j stream of importance or size on the route. Sixty-five miles out the road passes the fanjous "Soda Lakes," from which it is sixty miles to the head of Powder river, and from that to the Big Horn it is twenty-five miles, THE SEUOXJD ORGANIZED EXPEDITION EX-PEDITION WILL LEAVE RAW-LIN3 RAW-LIN3 ABOUT THE 10TH OF MAY, 1S77. The committee have secured special rates on the Union Pacific railroad from Omaha to Rawlins, aa follows: First-class ticket, $40; second-class, $32; emigrant, $25.
