Show BINGHAM. (Jregg's Leaching Process Revolution Rev-olution Promised in the Reduction Re-duction of Ores li'jld Excitement. Excite-ment. Bingham, Sept. 7, '77, Editors Herald: For the past few weeks Mr. W. 0. Gregg t of Salt Lake has been engaged in erecting works lor tho purpose of trying his improved leaching process on a large scale. If tho gentleman should prove successful, and his nam-estuesa nam-estuesa and success in experimenting with small quantities ol ore leave little room for doubt that he will, ail the old methods of reducing ore will be discarded, to a large cxteut, and the Gregg process will come into general use. Though some hgh grade ores have been touud in the Bingham mints, low urade ores largely predominate aud form our most reliable mineral wealth. Tbere are millions ot tous ol ore in Bingham no low in value that the ordinary pro ceases of reduction cannot be profitably profit-ably employed, but still of sutbcieul richness to warrant the outlay of a considerable sum lor smelting. Mr. Gregg's method decreases t ne cost of reduction to a figure which, ahould his discoveries prove ol practical prac-tical value, will be of immense benefit to the mine ewners of tuis camp, for the success of the project at once gives substantial value to huge quan-lies quan-lies of heretofore unmarketable ore. The inventor is now engag"! in putting put-ting up works to left his tbeorics on a large scale with Old Telegraph ore, and on their completion 1 wilt send you down a full description of them. Some good ore has recently been struck in the Blackbird an old location loca-tion formerly owned by Eli B. KeUey. There is a subdued excitement regarding re-garding the g3ld prospects; it is evident evi-dent that the gold belt, which could not be traced heretofore has been lound and followed at last.
