Show Silver Fluctuations. Major Goodspeed in his letter to the Chicago Inter-Ocean of the 15th remarks in regard to the recent light fall in the silver markot: We cannot understand tho fall in Bilver to-day, except that it is lower in England. There is no excess at any poiut. Nor has there been any quantity put upon the market. The rumor that got afloat that President Grant would veto the silver bill may have bad something to do with it. Wo here, who have made the silver business a study, cannot see what possible objection there can be to the bill that has passed the house. There is no quantity of silver in the country to speak of. The yieldof the Nevada mines cannot go east, and the rrst of the oroduct is not so very laree. |
