Inasmuch us the cry of prospectors is "on to tho Big Horn," it is of vital importance to every person who contemplates con-templates visiting the gold fields to know the best route to lake. The Big Horn country has long siuce been regarded as the land of promise for gold seekers, hence nothing need ho said of the country hut what U of dpccial importance to everyone is the beat route. There- are thousands of men throughout the states and territories terri-tories who have their nioU sanguino hopes fixed on the Big Horn, hence tho importance of the best route. This would necessarily include safety, direclness and .celerity. The route (possessing thedo advantages must, iu the nature of things, be the favorite, as speed and safety are the two characteristics of the age, and every prudent man will con-aider con-aider thcao fuels. Tuore aro sev eral routes advocated by which this country can be readied, but the i ficU show conclusively that the most desirable- and practical roule is from Rawlins, Carbon county, Wyoming territory. Cheyenne is distant over 400 miles, Green river is 230 miles laud Evamton over 300 miles. The j roulo frora-any of thcao pomU mut- bo for a great portion of the way over ;an unknown country, while from I Rawlins thu di-jtance is not over 150 , miles, and that over a road that 13 known aud has a bountiful supply of wood, water and grass. There is now a regular mail service- on this route forty five miles out from Rawlins, to-wit: to-wit: To the Ferris and Seminole mining districts, where there arc three mine3 now being worked by large companies. Sixty miles out the road crones the S.voetwater.. river by a good wagon bridge. Th'u is tho only stream of importance or size on the route. Sixly-five miles out the road passes the famous "Suda Lakes," from which it is sixty miles to the head of Powder river, and from that to tho Big Horn it is twonty-fivo miles. An expedition of from 200 to 300 miners and prospectors will leavo Rawlins for the Big Horn country between the 1st and 10th days of April, 1S77, headed by tho oldest miners and mountaineers mountain-eers in the west. It is desired by those going ta increase- their number num-ber as greatly as possible, in order to secure safety and success in prospecting. pros-pecting. There are large stores at Ruvliua, where everything every-thing required for a complete outfit can be bought cheaper than the pirlies could tako the goods there. The merchants have agreed to furnish fur-nish this expedilion wilh their provisions pro-visions at the actual coat of them laid down at Kawlms. Horses are plenty and can be bought at from $30 to $7j.
