Show That delusivs little coin tho 20-cent 20-cent piece, waa never received into popular favor. Tbe public appeared to have a spite against tbe shiner, for which no place could bo found in our pooket change system . Everybody knows what to do with the substantial looking nickel, the dime nnd the quarter, but the 20-ceat piece always occasioned a doubt to arise in the mind of "the holder. It is neither one thing nor the other, and . in appearance so resembles the honest old "two bit" coin, that every time a fellow closely i examined his 20-cent piece he j found himself cheated out of 5 cents. It will therefore be a source of re-' re-' vengeful satisfaction to know that a bill was yesterday introduced into the United States senate to put a stop to tbe coinage of the little fraud. |
