Show j School Exhibition. The school exhibition in the 20th ward on Thursday evening, financially financi-ally aud so far as the performance was concerned, was a grand success, and reflected much credit upon Prof. Lewis and his pupils; but in the matter of comfort of the audience it was a failure, which little fact no one can regret deeper than Mr. L. He had no idea that there would be so much of a crowd present. The doorkeeper door-keeper refused to sell tickets to many applicants who, nevertheless, insisted upon going in, and the consequence was that Bcores had to stand, and the pleasure and comfort of the audience were destroyed in a great measure. The managers of the aflair say the (disagreeable part of tho entertainment entertain-ment shall not be repeated. |
