Sargent said he would probably call it up to-morrow or next d"ay. Whyte oflered a resolution that a committee of two be appoiuted to wait on the (president to inform him that unless he may have some further communication the senate is ready to adjourn. Agreed to and Anthony and Whyte were appointed. The order of Morton for delivering to William Orton the Wettern Union telegraph dispatches wsb agreed to. A resolution authorizing the committee com-mittee to Bit during recess and investigate inves-tigate the o argea against Senator G rover was laid over. The Benate then went into executive session, during which Whyte and Anthony reported that the president said he would nut require the presence of tho senate longer than Sutiuduy or possibly possi-bly Tuesday next. After the doors were reopened th3 senate adjourned till to-morrow. |
