Tlif occasion thus celebrated wuathi'.t of the formal opening of the great building erected expressly for that journal, which is described as being the meat imposing and complete newspaper establishment in the country. A statue oi George D. Prenliee, the well known Kentucky pstt and journaliat, which adorns a niche in the front elevation of the building, was unveiled, with a memorial memo-rial address and poem. The growth and success of the Couricr-Juitnial illustrates in a marked degree the wonderful progre?s of the American press as a popular institution. |
