After ten minutes the cat showed signs of distress, dis-tress, and its owners gave up the fight. A rope was tied to the cafe leg, but the dog wouldn't resign its prey. They were finally pulled apart, however, how-ever, and in just thirteen minutes from the time of the first closing the cat died. The dog's head was badly scratched, but ho was not otherwise hurt.
