Show Tweed. New York, 6. The Times says the prospects of Tweed's escape seem fading, fad-ing, and tho determination on the part of the prosecution not to settle the ciso is growing stronger. It is now thought the story ot Tweed's rauderings is a mere device of bis friends to create sympathy for him. It is now generally believed that Tweed has nothing lo divulge to implicate im-plicate others. Tweed's release could not bo effected lor a long time to come, even if he had a proposition for restitution, which he ban not done, aud probably does not intend to do. |
