Show Arrested for Bigamy. The following complaint was aworr io before CjcnmUi-ner Sprague on j Monday: TE?.ErroaT of Utah, 1 Salt Lake Cocsty, j Philip T. VanZ.te, beiDg first duly sworn, upon hia oath, deposes and I says: That he is informed and verily beiievea that one Jas. Burmiogham, at the City and County of Sill Lake,' in 6aid Territory of Utah, in tbe winter of the year 1S7S, (but at what particular time deponent cannot etate,) being then married and having then and there a lawful wite living, did unlawfully and feloniously marry another woman, whose name ia to depenent unknown, contrary to the Btatute of the United Statea and against thB peace and dignity thereof. A warrant for the arrest of Mr. Burmingham was iaaued and placed in the hands of Captain Greenman, and he immediately started for Bountiful io make the arrest. This expedition was necessitated by the fact that on Tuesday morning Mr. Burmingham was about to leave the territory on a mission. The arrest waa made, and the accused gentleman gentle-man brought to this city, arriving here about lOo'clock Monday night. Yesterday morning be was brought before Cjo.missioner Sprague, and waived an examination. Hia bonda were then fixed at $2,000, which i were immediately given and Mr. Burmingham released. I |
