Show A Favorable Omen. The following telegram received on Monday evening by Mr. Miller, acting marshal during Marshal Sbaugh-neeay's Sbaugh-neeay's absence, may be taken S3 an omen very favorable to Mr. George Reynold?, who left for Lincoln, Neb., on Monday morniog : Washington, D. S, Marshal, Salt Lake City, L'tah If George Reynolds has not already been eeut to a penitentiary outside ol Utah Territory, let him be detained in tbe Utah penitentiary until further fur-ther notice. Chas. Devess, Attorney General, Unfortuualely, however, Mr. Reynolds bad left about ten hours earlier, and in coueequence the following fol-lowing reply was telegraphed: Reynolds left this morning, ut 7 o'clock, (or Lincoln, Nebraska. There is Utile question, from the fact of the above telegram having come from tbe attorney general, that tbe cabinet looka favorably upon the matter of pardoning Mr. Eyi-olda, and it will doubtless be but a ahort time before we hear something that will bo very gratifying relative tu tbe gentleman. |
