Hereford eub-mitted eub-mitted a ureamble and resolution declaring de-claring that the hojsa bill to repeal the specie resumption act had been referred re-ferred to the finauco committee of the senate on the 2olh of November last, iberefore be it resolved, that aaid committee be required to report said bill to the senate within one week, together with their action thereon, ii any shall have been had. He asked for prtseot consideration of the resolution, reso-lution, but objection was made by Morrill, and it went over. Chaffee cal'ed up the senate bill to establish the territory of Lincoln and to provide a temporary government therefor, whioh was discussed until the expiration of the morning hour and then laid aside. Consideration was then resumed of the Pacific railroad Binking lund bill. Teller made a long speech in favur of the bill when it was laid aside not to lose its place as unfinished business. The bill to employ temporary treasury clerks and to bring into market public lands, &c, was taken up. The debate in regard to limber depredations was continued and Jones of Florida spoke in his opposi lion to tho course of the secretary ol the interior. The president's answer to the reao lution of Blaine regarding tbe fishery commission and award was laid before be-fore the Benate. Garland reported favorably on the senate bill to disapprove and annul tbe act of the legislative assembly ol New Mexico, passed over the governor's gover-nor's veto, to incorporate the Bociety of Jesuit fathers of New Mexico. Placed on the calendar. Morgan (Ala.) also opposed the aecond section ol the. bill, and gave notice that at the proper lime he would move lo strike out the second section of the bill. Matthews said that whatever else might result from this debate, one good would follow. It would demonstrate demon-strate the necessity lor some wise and systematio legislation covering luia entire subject.
