Show City Council. Meeting of the city council, Tuesday Tues-day evening. Mayor Wells presiding. Petition of William Dickison, asking ask-ing the privilege of hauling water to the residents of the north bench, free of license, wa3 referred to the committee com-mittee on license. The city assessor and collector was granted further time in which to complete the assessment roll for the year 1875. Petition of Thomas Jenkins and six others, asking that Sixth South street, between East and West Temple Tem-ple streets, be repaired, and offering to assist in defraying the expense of such repairs to the amount of $185. was referred to the committee on streets and alleys. Tho bill of the superintendent of ihP insnneaavlum for expenses during the month ot March amounting to $063.62, was allowed. Alderman Pyper presented his report re-port of polico court business during the month of March. There had been 107 cases tried, $1 073.50 asses set! and collected in cash fines and $155 in labor fines. The marshal and chief engineer presented bill of expenses in those departments during March, amounting amount-ing to $210.21. Referred to the committee com-mittee on claims. Tha committee to whom was referred re-ferred the petition of A. Taylor, asking that the street in front ot his premises, 1-tli ward, be repaired, ro-jKirted ro-jKirted that they had instructed the city water master and street supervisor to make the necessary repairs. The committee to whom was referred re-ferred the pe'.ition of James Marsdeu, asking that Eighth South street, between be-tween West Temple and Fifth West, bj oponed to the public, reported and recommended that the prayer of the petition bo granted, and that the marshal bo instructed to order those wiio have the street fenced up to remove re-move their fences within thirty days.
