Show Meteorological. If there were nothing else in Salt Lake city to entice persons to make it their permanent abode tho climate alone would be sufficient. We have taken particular pains to ascertain from the United States signal service office in this city something about the climatology of Utah for the past year, and find considerable matter of interest to lay before our readers. The highest temperature recorded last summer in this city was 96 degrees, anil tho lowest so far this winter has been 18 degrees above zero. The thermometer last summer at several points within a few miles of this cily, rose to 10G degs. and 110 degs. This winter the thermometer has been below zero at most places east of here. The highest high-est velocity attained by the wind at any time during tho past year was 2S mi If a per hour. The total amount of rainfall (rain and melted snow) for the year 1874 was 17 80-100 inches, being an excess of three inches over that ol 1S73; and the number of days on which rain or biiow fell was 107. |
