Show It is encouraging to American pride to observe that the Chicago Tribune is taking strong grounds in favor of putting a stop to the miserable misera-ble let-alone policy of our government in regard to the Spanish-Cubpn war and the indignity with which the United States has been treated by mediate settlement of all our claims against Spain, or in default thereof, steps to enforce our rights, forcibly adding: There ig nothing in our past relations with SpfiiD, nor in the promise of tho of the future, nor in tho Sani,sh character, charac-ter, nor in iU sbnra republicanism, nor in its commercial dealing, nor in the law of nations, which claims a longor forbearance forbear-ance on our part. |
