Roberta and Cheney, Che-ney, tho democratic nnd republican candidates for governor respectively, will run about nock and neck, the few yotes cast for the prohibition candidate candi-date preventing either from securing a majority ef tho entire vote, which is required in New Hampshire to elect. Frank Jones, an enterprising democrat, is elected to congress from the 1st district, which is again; Ayer, republican, from tho 3d, a republican gain; and the 2nd district is reported doubtful. The legislature is claimed by both parties. The republican organ or-gan of this city will have to take back a portion of the hearty crow it indulged in-dulged in on Wednesday. |
