Show j The Theatre. Mr. James A. Heme makes his first appearance in a number of years, j at tbe theatre this evening. He will open in his celebrated character of I "Rip Van Winkle," in which he bas made a great reputation and in -vhich he is second to none in the world. His rendition of the jovial, lUtless Dutchman years ago waa unsurpassed, unsur-passed, and since that time be has been constantly improving himself and must necessarily give even a bet ' ter idea of the character than before. He is accompanied by Miss KatberineJ Corcoran, an actress of whom the California papers speak in very flattering flat-tering terms. While here, they are sure to attract large audiences, and they will give a variety of programme--. iD which will be presented the new production of "Chums," a piece written by Mr. Heme and Mr. Belasco Mr. Belasco will also appear ap-pear in these nlavs. J The performance this evening will conpi,t ef "Rip Van Winkle" and ool "A Rough Diamond," and there is little do'ibt but a Urge audience will great the new actors. |
