Show COURT PROCEEDINGS. Third Distriot Court, Emerson, A. J. Presiding. march term twenty-ninth day. Saturday, April 3d, 1S75. Court convened at 10 o'clock a. m. In tho matter of George E. Whitney, Whit-ney, attorney; the motion heretofore filed to Bet aside the adjudication for contempt against George E. Whitney, a member of the bar, was called up by Messrs. Kirkpatrick and Bennett, attorney for Whitney, and whs submitted sub-mitted to the court without argument. The people, etc., vs. E. X. Field, indicted far embezzlement; District Attorney Carey for the prosecution, Til ford and Hugan for the dofenne; the defendant being arraigned pluoded not guilty to tho charge; trial by jury; a number of witnesses, on eac i nide, lealtfied, and the cose was submitted without argument. The jury, after being charged by the court, retired for an hour and a quarter, when they returned a verdict of not guilty. Court adjourned till Monday morn- ' iug at 10 o'clock. |
