Show Burglars. About four o'clock yesterday morning, morn-ing, the night watchman on the Kimball block discovered a light in Thil. Margetts' saloon, and going around to the back door ho disturbed dis-turbed three men, who rushed out of the building, passed him and on to the street. The watchman followed but could not overtake the men. When the bar tender arrived it was discovered that the burglars had taken $13.50 from the till and a Dottle of port wine. Yesterday afternoon two well-known garroters, John Archer and James Dunn, alias "Dublin," and a young boy wero arrested ar-rested on suspicion, they answering to the description of the burglars, as given by the night watchman. The accused are to have a trial this alter-noon. alter-noon. By-the-by, "Dublin" is wanted in the Third district court to answer an indictment found against him for highway robbery, committed in this city a few years ago. He is one of the many who have escaped from the penitentiary within the last few months. " Dublin " was taken to the penitentiary one evening even-ing lost winter, and if we are not mibtaken left there three of four hours afterwards, in company with others. After the city gets through with him for Wednesday morning !& robbery, should it be proven prov-en that he is guilty, the territory will be apt to take another chance at him. There were two other burglaries in the city on Tuesday night. A little shop in the Sth ward was broken into and robbed of a quantity oi clothing, some canned fruit and cigars. Eard-ley's Eard-ley's shop in the 3d ward was burglarized burglar-ized and a small sum of-cioney taken therefrom. There is no clue to the discovery of the parties who committed com-mitted tho Inst two felonies. |
