Show Cemmeuced Work. The machinery hoisting works and pumps of the Oregon group, Honeycomb fork, Big Oot ton wood, is now in excellent working order and has started up. Captain Jas. A. Mahoo, the manager nf the group, has been vigorously pushing matters ahead for some time past, looking to the speedy reopening of the group, and the results of his labors are now satisfactory. A contract has been made for sinking a shaft S00 feet in depth and a level 500 feet under the hill. Everything is now arranged in such a permanent manner that work will"1 bo prosecuted during the winter. The water is being pumped out of the mine very rapidly and as soon as possible the labor of taking out ore will be commenced. |
