Show A Model Sou. A fellow named Robert Briscoa, aged 25 years, and a resident of Brighton precinct, is alleged to have beaten his mother on Wednesday. It is said that he went to the home of his mother, who is quite aged, and told her to get him some milk. The old lady said he would have to wait until the cows were milked, and started out, accompanied by her sick little girl to get the milk. She made florae remark to the eflect that he and his big, laiy wife should be ashamed cf themselves to lounge arouud while an old woman like her-sell her-sell h;U to mi:k for them. It appears that the lord of creation, her son, heard the remark, for he came out and struck her on the head with his fist or hand and also hit Ibe little 141H, but immediately turned to the latter and remarked that he had not intended to touch her. The mother, it is claimed, then went to Mr. Sehoenfeldt, justice of the peace, and made a charge against her ungrateful offspring, but the justice declined to entertain the charge and refused to aecure Briscoa's arrest. On Thursday his mother came te Salt Lake to try and have him punished, but the police here could do nothing, it being out of their ( jurisdiction. The mother plainly shows the marks of the ill-usage. |
