On this fide also, and part below the ticket win-low, is tho place ol en trance. The market building i l'd off in'.o departments, some of which are partially ready. On the south aide is tho shoe and han.esa depart ineiit, opposite which an isle intervening in-tervening between is the place for fnmiHno display. In the southeast corner wilt be the ladi.s' department, uuder the care of A. XI. M icr, one attraction of which will be a display ot silk cocoons in their various stages ol development. There will alo be A silk reel, ou iv:;ich the process ol reeling will be eh. iw u by illustration. Opposite the ladies ' dfpartmeut and west will be the mineral exhibit- In the northeast comer of the building is located tlnit portion nllulted for tbo display of tho lino arts, while the north side is set apart for floral eihi biliocs. The samples of agricultural products, wheat, oats aud other cereals, cer-eals, will be seen in the northwest corner ot the building. Passing out of the market to tho north end of the grounds you come to the vegetable department, whence you are led to the eat, pass iuto a yard just beyond tho northeast corner of the market grounds, and in this place the exhibition exhibi-tion of swine, sheep, and perhip) cattle will be made. Inat portion of the grouuds allotted for the display of foreign goods is in the yard on the south aide of the building, and will be very conspicuous, while the east aide will be occupied in displaying a steam engine manufactured bore, which will be in active operation in connection connec-tion with machinery. Tae largo yard on the south side of the building is entirely devoted to the display of horses aud cattle, and from the preparations pre-parations made a fine exhibition may reasonably be expected. Tnree bands of music have beeu engaged to perform on consecutive days, aud perhaps a fourth will be obtained. Tne stand for the musicians is to be erected on the east side of the grounds. An arrangement worthy ol particular particu-lar mention is one made by the managers man-agers ol the fair with Professor Bar-foot, Bar-foot, by which the muieuna may bo visited in connection with the fair, and that without any additional expense ex-pense oc admitting a person to the fair and the museum also. After going through the fair ground j, a road has been made from the northeast yard of the fair grounds, through the block to the museum, by which arrangement ar-rangement both places are made convenient con-venient to each other. The fair opens to-morrow morning. |
