Show The Centernial Cke. Mr. Joseph Dyer, proprietor of the Oyster parlor, is the artist in ornamental orna-mental cakes, aud his chtj dUmivrc now graces the editorial table. We will not attempt to describe the beauty, simply saying that it is the handsomest specimen of cake architecture archi-tecture and ornamentation that has been produced in this region. On the top, surrounded by wreaths, festoons, fes-toons, bouquets and dimiuutivc, harps, are the appreciated words: "Happy New Year ! A present to the Herald, IS7u" Thanks, friend Dyer, aud the only fault we can find with the cake, is that it is so handsome that we cannot can-not think of cutting it to sample the interior. |
