Show Success ol Edison's laijilit New York, 27. Tbe Herald to-day: The first practical illustration of the Edison electric light aa a Byetem baa just been given. For the past two nights his entire laboratory and machine ma-chine shop have been lighted up with the new light and tbe result has been eminently satisfactory. In the machine ma-chine shop, 125 feet long by 25 feel wide, twelve of the new lights did the work of eighteen gas burners previously previ-ously used. The lamps were regulated regu-lated bo that each gave a light of eighteen lo twenty candle power intensity. The generator used waa the ordinary gramme machine.
