Show City Council. Proceedings at the City Council on Tuesday evening, December 16th, 1879, Mayor Little presiding: A petition, Bigned by Ellen Mac-duff, Mac-duff, waB presented, which stt forth that she waa the lawful owner of a certain pieoe of land bordering upon the eastern shore of tbe Hct Spring Lake. Upoa thie land were located two groupB of sulphur springs, which ' Bomewbat enhanced the value thereof, and understanding tbat tbe corporation corpora-tion wbb deBiroua of purcbaiing, petitioner peti-tioner offered to give a waranteedoed to the city for said land for tin sum of $1,200. Referred to the oommittee on public grounds. A petition fiom George W. Hill, stating that he wai desiiO-ta of purchasing pur-chasing a three-cornered tract of land situated on the northwest corner of block 150, plat "A," Slt Lake City survey, near thg Warm S&ringa, wbb referred to the committee on publio groandp. A petition from Oliver Bess, dating to be granted the rental of fioneer Squaro for a period of three yeara, on the same terras as he had heretofore rented it, viz , $100 pgr annum, whb referred to tho committee on publio grounds. The oommittee on ficanoo.to wham was referred the report of tbe auditor I of public accounts, for ilia quarter ending November 30tb, 1879, re poitsd that they had carefully examined exam-ined and cheoked t jo accounts therein set forth with the bock and vouoherB1 in tbe auditor's office, and found them correct. The receipts as Bet forth in the report were found to fully ayree with tbe amounts receivod by the treasurer, tho amount disbursed to agree with the auditor's warrants far the same period, and no warrant bad been issued except upon appropriation made by the council. coun-cil. The commit'ee, therefore, recommended that the auditor's report be accepted as a correot financial finan-cial exhibit of the corporation, and aa suoh be published in accordance with the requirement) of the city oharter. Adopted. ! The committee on finance reported back the annual report of the city treasurer lor the fiscal ypar ending November SO, 1879. The committee had examined the treasurer's books, etc, and found the Btaiements eel forth in hia report lo bs accurate and correct, and in pursuance with in structions from tbe council, they bad destroyed redeemed auditor's warrants war-rants to the amount of $157,372.96. The committee recommended that tho treasurer's report bo approved and pUced on file. Adopted.
