The supreme su-preme court met to-day in response to tbe petition numerously signed by citizens, to act on the petitiun fjro mandamus compelling the u-tuvas-sing baard ol Alachua county to m ike a canvass of all the returns of the county, three precincts having been thrown out. Notices were served o members thereof on the H'.h, but they did not appear or make answer to the court. Judge Baker of J ck-souville ck-souville appeared lor the board, when the matter was argued and the court granted an alternative writ ot mandamus wgaiust the canvassing boaid of Alachua county, returnable on Wtdutsiay next.
