Show Criminal Calendar. Tc-morrow morning, in the Third District court, the trial of cases on the criminal calendar for the February term will commence. The first case on the list is that of tbe People vs. General R. T. Burton for murder. There are three distinct charges against General Burton aud tbe calculations are that each willj be tried separately, in which event it is expected that the cases will occupy all of three weeks. Preparations have been made for commencing the case to-morrow, and the first business will be the impan-nelling impan-nelling of a jury. When this is concluded con-cluded the case of the People against Jeter Clinton will be taken up. This is also for murder, and as the causes for both indictments date many years back, it is expected that considerable interest will attach to the proceedings in them, and extended reports will be given. The grand jury for this term will a'so meet to-morrow morning and re oeive the charge of the judge. |
