Show Some time ago, a court in l'arisl (sentenced to three years' impr:son-moiit impr:son-moiit Daron Boilcau, for participation in the Memphis and El Paso Railroad, Rail-road, an affair in which General John C. Fremont was a prominent official. The affair has been represented as "a huge Yankee swindle;" but the General Gen-eral pleads innocence. The Baron was arrested, tried and sentenced, and bis faithful wife dies of the grief and mortification of that disgrace. Mmo. Boilcau was the daughter of Senator Benton, of Missouri, and sister of Mrs. Jesse Fremont. Tho General asserts his utter iuorauce of any intentional fraud; but he declines going to Paris to stand his trial. |
